Thanks all for the info.
I didn't miss the song while I was watching the show, but in reflection, I do think that the evening loses something of its emotional richness and storytelling complexity by losing that moment.
I know the first act is long, but that's partly because it takes a long time for Malloy to get the story moving. I wish they'd found a way to condense the first 15-20 minutes, rather than remove something that antes up the drama right as the story has started to get some real heat behind it. |
