You're right about the flip-side, though: under this system, it is all but impossible to buy someone a ticket as a gift, and that's annoying (it's also going to be a problem if your card expires between the date you book and the date you attend, though there's a number you can call to deal with that sort of thing). Their choice, and it doesn't seem to have hurt them - the entire initial booking period sold out months before the show begins previews, and I expect the second booking period, which will also go on sale before the show begins previews, will also sell very quickly. |
