I gotta disagree about both B&TB and Lion King... those songs are both very distinctly part of the plot of act 1, not the end of it. Be Our Guest is just really the beginning of the Beauty and Beast story. Whether the song that closes act one was right or not, Be Our Guest is too early in the plot to close act one.
And as with Be Our Guest, there is no plot or unresolved feeling hinging or hanging on or expressed by Hakuna Matata... dramatically it doesn't make sense to end act one there... so I disagree with them putting it there, though clearly it hasn't made a difference. |
