Advice, Please -- Event listings in NY
Posted by: DistantDrumming 10:17 pm EDT 08/15/17

I'm in NY for a few days in a couple of weeks. I'm probably seeing Dolly on Donna's night. I might have one other evening free. What are the best sources for event listings in NY? Theatre, yes, but also music, dance, fine arts, food festivals etc. Ideally, I'd love to pull up a calendar, select the exact date(s) I'm in NY and see all of the events of note on those particular days.

I have not found a truly comprehensive listing anywhere either (been looking for years) -- and TO/NY is useful, but much less so for my planning purposes than it used be (fewer listings and too much focus on what is promoted). This link helps a bit but is not in a calendar format: https://www.nyc-arts.org/organizations . It seems the only way to get a calendar listing anymore is if it's been "curated" for you (or more likely, for whoever sponsors the writer).

Thanks. Well, okay, I guess I CAN google. Surprised some outlet hasn't built something more comprehensive like this in web or mobile app form. Seems like it would be popular -- especially for time-crunched people who know the exact dates/times they're free. Could make some decent advertising revenue, too. Guess it's TimeOut and NYTimes.com for me.

Try this. Other choices but decent place to start.
