| At the time, "It's for the Royal Shakespeare Company" carried a bit of cachet. They'd just launched Les Mis which was on its way to conquering the world, and it was a 4 week tryout in Stratford, not a very big commitment in the scheme of things. But yes, it was not exactly a great experience for her and yes, it probably pushed her away from doing further shows (of course, there wasn't exactly a lot of material that screamed "put Barbara Cook in me" in that era anyway) |
