Agreed - and I'm also assuming that Buenos Aires itself isn't referred to in real life as "B.A." - though I don't know. I think Rice just saw a fun wordplay opportunity and he used it.
I don't think it matters whether or not "Big Apple" is literally used for anywhere other than New York. Rice is using it as a generic term for "THE big city." The same way we use "Kleenex" generically to mean any facial tissue regardless of brand name, or "Band-Aid" to refer to any such kind of bandage, etc. |
