I may not broadcast my name in my handle here (which dates way back to when I was writing trivia quizzes for Fynsworth Alley), but I think most regulars know I'm Laura Frankos; I write science fiction, fantasy and theatre history; I live in LA with my husband, novelist Harry Turtledove and theatre nerd daughter, Rebecca. And if you didn't know that, now you do.

Nice to meet you Laura.

You do know, however, that in a few months your post will be lost in the past posts of ATC. And, unless I have missed the background data for all participants, for all intents and purposes you will be anonymous again.

At least my handle, when searched, easily displays who I am.

I was originally SDTheatreBill when I was posting reviews of shows I saw to the (late, lamented) West Coast board. I didn't want the local companies to know who I was. One manager figured it out and then encouraged me to write for publication. After I became a TB Regional reviewer, I started posting under my real name, as there was no longer a reason to keep my identity hidden.

By the way, I very occasionally get an offline comment about a review, but I have never felt harassed by having my identity known here. That may be because I only write about theatre; I'm not employed in it.

Bill, in San Diego
