| Had seen this musical last year and was not really impressed. Got a ticket for this afternoon to see personal favorite Betsy Wolfe and boy,has she reinvigorated show! Really enjoyed it this time around. Wolfe is a wonderful actress with the voice of an angel and she soars in this production-so happy to see her in a lead-she was spectacular a few years back in The Last 5 Years and Drood revival (Woody Allen wasted her in Bullets Over Broadway) The whole show seemed tighter and more focused. She's going to be in concert in November with her 5 Years costar Adam Kantor at Carnegie Hall-something else to look forward too. Now if only someone would write a show just for her! | |

| I'm a Betsy Wolfe fan but Jessie Mueller was wonderful in Waitress so I don't know what show you saw last year. As far as I know the show hasn't been rewritten for Wolfe. | |

| No,I love Jessie too (another standout in thr Drood revival),but I couldn't see her getting into the situation the character of Jenna was in. She seems too strong-even though I know producers keep picking her for abused women-next season's Carousel for example. Can't understand why nobody uses her extraordinary comedy talent which was on display in Drood and Nice Work. Just think of what she could do with Funny Girl! She'd be enthralling! Betsy was just a more vulnerable character and made more sense for me. And a more satisfying arc in her portrayal. | |

| She was also a great Cinderella in ITW in the Park, and Carrie in Carousel in concert. | |

| Also she has given beautiful performances as Amalia in She Loves Me and as Mary in Merrily We Roll Along (and many others) in Chicago regional theatre. | |
