| Anyone bought last minute/day-of tickets for Hello, Dolly! from Stubhub? While I know the past is not a guarantee of the future and the plural of anecdote isn't data, I'd love to hear of any success you had landing reasonably priced Dolly tickets from StubHub. I'm weighing the idea of a lower/mid-premium advance purchase vs. taking my chances on a last minute StubHub purchase. To clarify, I'm talking strictly Bette performance days. If you had some success and don't mind sharing, how far in advance of the performance did you make your purchase, what section were you seated in and how much did you pay per ticket? I'm assuming the StubHub ticket sellers reduce their prices (significantly?) if they have unsold inventory just a few hours before curtain. I mean, for example, for tomorrow's (8/17) performance there are currently 172 unsold tickets, of which 45 are electronic/instant download tickets, as opposed to hard tickets. And, related question, are you aware of any particular rows or even seats to avoid? Are there any obstructed view seats in this house? I'm sticking with Mez and Orch. |

| I got my tickets for Bette day-of on StubHub back in previews. I got $150 house right box seats (face value $225? Maybe $240?) around 5 PM on a Friday afternoon. Definitely obstructed view - we lost all the "closet" gags in the hat shop scene, and the entirety of Ernestia / Horace's. But being in the room was enough - the energy was unbelievable! I have a friend who ushers at the shubert and he agrees with the comment below RE: the mezzanine' overhang. I sat balcony center when I saw Donna Murphy a few weeks back and would say they are better seats than the mezz. |

| I bought mezz seats when they first went on sale and was shocked at how bad the view was when we got there. Between the overhang of the balcony and the front of the mezz, it was like I was watching through a shelf and some of the action was missed. They were not labeled partial view but they were. So be sure to ask about the overhang when you buy tix. Seems like balcony tix would've been preferable. | |

| Thank you, all, for your responses. Super helpful. When we say the sightlines are bad in the rear mez, due to the overhang of the balcony and the visibility of the front mez, what are we talking about? The last few rows? The last half, the last 2/3 of the mez? I guess I'm asking, how many rows back can you go in the mez and get a good view with no/very little visual obstruction? | |

| Couldn't believe how bad they are and balcony has a full view and no complaints from me. That over hang is unreal. | |

| I was in the last row of the mezz (row K) center Tue via TDF. I don't know if the seats were advertised as partial, but all we could see from the top level of the Vandergelder set was about chest height down, no faces. Fortunately there's not a lot of action up there. We also couldn't see the full glory of the arced lights, just saw them on the way up on both sides, no curve at all. | |

| I found a reasonably priced front row orchestra seat on telecharge for a matinee a few weeks ago. I checked very late at night the night before and one came up for a pretty fair price considering some of the prices. (It was 239 or something like that.) I was kind of shocked to find it. There are obstructed views on the aisle seats on the rows close to the stage. I've read on ATC though that the obstructions go further back into the theater and some people (forget the rows) had tickets that were obstructed but not marked that way and they felt they should have been. My friend sat in the first row in an obstructed view seat and said all she missed was the stuff that went on at the exit of Horace's Store which wasn't too much. I think the Shubert Mezz is always a little obstructed on the aisles. When ever I've bought thru Stubhub it has been very expensive when I bought in advance. My friend says that if you wait until minutes before a show starts (and go into a hotel computer center in one of the hotels) prices drop dramatically as people get frantic about not selling what is left over. I've never done it though. and how Stubhub isn't scalping I'll never know ............ but that is probably better left to another thread. |

| Unless something is hidden, StubHub isn't scalping because they don't buy and sell the tickets - they offer a place/method for sellers (some of whom are scalpers) to reach buyers. | |
