I found a reasonably priced front row orchestra seat on telecharge for a matinee a few weeks ago. I checked very late at night the night before and one came up for a pretty fair price considering some of the prices. (It was 239 or something like that.) I was kind of shocked to find it.

There are obstructed views on the aisle seats on the rows close to the stage. I've read on ATC though that the obstructions go further back into the theater and some people (forget the rows) had tickets that were obstructed but not marked that way and they felt they should have been.

My friend sat in the first row in an obstructed view seat and said all she missed was the stuff that went on at the exit of Horace's Store which wasn't too much. I think the Shubert Mezz is always a little obstructed on the aisles.

When ever I've bought thru Stubhub it has been very expensive when I bought in advance. My friend says that if you wait until minutes before a show starts (and go into a hotel computer center in one of the hotels) prices drop dramatically as people get frantic about not selling what is left over. I've never done it though.

and how Stubhub isn't scalping I'll never know ............ but that is probably better left to another thread.

Unless something is hidden, StubHub isn't scalping because they don't buy and sell the tickets - they offer a place/method for sellers (some of whom are scalpers) to reach buyers.
