Foxy Ladies Love/Boogie
70's Explosion!

March is cabaret month!

As it enters its 6th month of sold-out performances in March, the new hit musical revue Foxy Ladies Love/Boogie 70's Explosion! continues to wow its audiences at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre, 61 Christopher Street (at 7th Avenue) in the heart of Greenwich Village. The 85 minute revue traces the changes in women in the 1970's, through an extensive selection of pop, rock, folk, disco and even TV theme songs of that era. Performances are on Saturday evenings at 10:30 PM (scheduled to run through, at least, the end of April, no performance April 1) with one special Cabaret Month performance on Monday, March 27 at 6:00 PM.

The dynamic ensemble cast of five performers is Foxy Ladies are: Maggie Anderson, Marie La Ferrara, Anne Lauterbach, Abigail Spencer, and Jen Ward. All have extensive musical theater and dance credits with Ms. Lauterbach having performed in the MAC Award-winning revue Carol Hall and Friends and Ms. Spencer moonlighting from her starring role as Becca Tyree in ABC's All My Children. The show incorporates 43 songs and 46 costume changes as it pays tribute to female musical legends such as Joni Mitchell, Cher, Patti Smith, Donna Summer and Barbra Streisand.

Memorable songs include "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," "Higher and Higher," "You're So Vain," "Love Will Keep Us Together," "Dancing Queen," "Lovin' You," "I Will Survive," "Evergreen," "I Feel the Earth Move," "I Love the Nightlife," and "We Are Family."

Emmy nominee Fritz Brekeller is the director and creator of Foxy Ladies Love/Boogie 70's Explosion! Nominated for his musical direction on CBS-TV's As the World Turns; he currently spends his days in Pine Valley at ABC's All My Children. Fritz is also the director of two cult cable access shows: Sixth Floor Harrison and The Uncle Charlie Show. The Foxy Ladies creative team also includes Musical Director Tracy Stark; choreographer Ashley Wren Collins; costume designer DeWayne Kirchner, and technical director Thomas Honick.
