Orlando's Blue Man Group Delivers Solid Entertainment with Colored Paint and Toilet Paper ...

Here's hoping that Blue Man Group recycles, because at the tail end of their Orlando show, in residence at the AQUOS Theatre located at Universal CityWalk, the three mysterious and anonymous blue men descend upon the audience and cover the place in ridiculous amounts of toilet paper.  While the paper doesn't necessarily have the silken feel of Angel Soft, it certainly keeps the audience in an extended frenzy that it already has been for an intermissionless hour and a half.

How does one describe Blue Man?  It's safe to state that it is the perfect example of special theatrical event—it doesn't necessarily fit into the categories of theatre, rock concert or stand up comedy, but all of those elements seem to factor into the terrifically entertaining show.  With multimedia extravagance, the three bald, blue characters blend percussion, art, science, Twinkies and marshmallows into a form of entertainment like no other.

The Blue Men have been around forever, with permanent companies stationed in New York, Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas and several other cities worldwide.   The Orlando men are of outstanding caliber, with their deadpan stares and humor matched by their astounding percussive skills.  More impressive, however, is the brilliant band which adds a rock concert feel to some moments while being an eerie glowing presence on the second level of the Blue Man stage.

Some moments tend to drag slightly, including one segment where the men share a Twinkie with a special guest from the audience.  It's funny, but moves a bit slowly when so much else moves so quickly.

Still, it's a not-to-be-missed spectacle with enough entertainment to keep even smaller children entertained.  Of course, if they are too young, they may only remember being completely toilet papered from top to bottom.  And even then, you can't say that the unbelievable grins on their faces aren't completely worth it.
