Living Proof

The Concert Series of the First Presbyterian Church of Boca Raton presents the singing group Living Proof. The touring group of young singers is comprised of four men and three women performing both a capella and to accompaniment tracks.

Living Proof performs on weekends; the same performers are known as Primary Focus during the week. Primary Focus performs educational children's theatre shows promoting what they call "the six pillars of character" to school aged children. The group seen in this performance is actually one of four that tours a section of the United States. Based out of San Diego, California, the company also operates The Governor's Place Theatre in Tennessee, which does full scale theatrical revues.

The evening's performance includes gospel and contemporary Christian music, but was at it's best when featuring soloists singing in a more modern American Idol style. Songs such as "The You In Me" allow singers to show off solid pop vocal embellishments to which they seem the most connected. Of the seven singers in the group, only a few are palatable as soloists, but the group sound is pleasant. Some attention to costuming would make for a better visual impact as a group, as they are operating with no scenery, props or lighting effects.

Living Proof appeared October 22, 2006 at the First Presbyterian Church of Boca Raton. The First Presbyterian Church of Boca Raton is located at 600 W. Camino Real, in Boca Raton, FL.
