Forbidden Talkin' Broadway

While the whole world is waiting for the outcome of the Livent situation we thought we would have a little fun around here. We asked readers to submit song parodies to the tune of "Crime Of The Century" from Ragtime with the opening line: "I was once the CEO of Livent Inc." The winner, Ronni Krasnow will receive a pair of Brass Comedy/Tragedy wall masks. Ronni prefaced her entry with the following words: "With a million humble and abject apologies to Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty."

GARTH'S PLEA

Your honor,

I was once the CEO of Livent Inc.
But now my famous company is on the brink
Cause Disney opened up the LION KING
and then we made ... well ... hardly anything

Ruined by a Mouse of all things, your honor!

So I went and tampered with the books, both sets!
(A stupid thing to do)
Oh! Oh!
I am a greedy man
Oh! Oh!
That's when they caught my plan
Boo hoo!
Your Honor be fair
I must have gone crazy I swear

Now it's the
Crime of the Century!
Crime of the Century!
Making the whole world shriek!
Livent's in trouble
and Disney's in Heaven
And Tony night was so sad and bleak!!

The Crime of the Century,
Crime of the Century!
All those investors sing
Fortune, fame,
and a ruined name
and now I'm the guy with nothing!
Whee!

Oh! Oh!
Everyone envied me!
Oh! Oh!
Now I'm in Cell block C!
Boo hoo!
Your honor be kind
I must have been out of my mind!

And it's the Crime of the Century!
Crime of the Century!
giving the world a shock!
Livent's in trouble
and Disney's in Heaven
and the profits were just
a great big crock!

The Crime of the Century,
Crime of the Century,
oh what an awful thing ...
Ragtime's killed
but Eisner is thrilled!
Cause now I'm the guy
Now I'm the guy
with nothing!
Whee!

See You Thursday!
