Liaisons: Reimagining Sondheim from the Piano

Compositions inspired by Stephen Sondheim songs. 17 of the 36 commissioned pieces were performed in April 2012 concert at Symphony Space by pianist Anthony de Mare. The remaining pieces will be performed in March 2013 at the same venue. Composers of performed pieces include David Shire and Ricky Ian Gordon, jazz pianists Ethan Iverson and Fred Hersch, and Paul Moravec.
