Beyond the Fringe

Before opening at London's Fortune Theatre on 10th May 1961 the Beyond The Fringe cast had a try-out with a one week run at Cambridge's Arts Theatre from 24th-29th April. This is a recording of the Cambridge show recorded on 24th April, their first night, in front of a very enthusiastic and appreciative mostly student audience. It can now be heard for first time for 50 years. Over two hours of material, including 9 previously unreleased sketches which did not make the London run for either editorial reasons, or the Lord Chamberlain's disapproval.
