Piaf...an embarrassing question
The following question was asked by Dom M. on the Tony Forum:
"Did anybody see the Broadway show about the marvelous French singer, Edith Piaf a few years ago? I did not see the show (called Piaf, but not necessarily) but I do remember the controversy. The leading lady supposedly did something onstage every performance that was, well how shall I put this, very natural (is there anyone here who doesn't do it?), but nevertheless very controversial, not the sort of thing you'd expect to see done publicly on a Broadway stage."
"Those who may remember the show know what I'm talking about. But I've heard rumors that the leading lady didn't actually do what she was purportedly doing but it was all a sort of special effect."
"Is that true or was her controversial act real? Also, whatever happened to her?"
Well, a post like that is right up my alley! Go directly to the next story for my tribute to one of the greatest singers who ever lived, the incomparable Edith Piaf, known throughout the world as The Little Sparrow!
