Talkin' Broadway, a top Web site that serves theater lovers in more than 55 countries, has just posted "The Broadway of Yesteryear Gallery." Written by Robert Rusie, it presents prints and photos from 1640 to 1905, depicting the history of Broadway. It tells how the venue began as an Indian trail, became a Dutch country road called Heere Straat or Breedeweg, and evolved into the famed boulevard it is. Included are depictions of Trinity Church (1776), Elgin Botanical Gardens (1812), M. Franconi's Hippodrome (1853) and P.T. Barnum's Circus (1874).
