| I enjoy this number and granted, the wordplay is brilliant. However, shouldn't it really be the story of Lucy X and Lucy Y, since basically we are talking about one woman who is wishing she had mixed together as a whole, some aspects of her life as a young lady and then the same (named) lady who is wiser, older and settled monetarily? Of course, then there wouldn't be the wordplay with the mixing of the rhymes to both Lucy and Jessie. But unless I'm mistaken the song is basically about one woman at different points of her life, not two differently named women. I guess maybe jealousy of the aspects of two different women is a way of seeing it, too. | |
