| "The Saga of Jenny" is one of Liza Elliot's dreams in "Lady in the Dark"; except for one song "My Ship" at the end, all of the musical's songs appear in three extended dream sequences. Basically, Liza has problems making up her mind about her life -- specifically which man to choose, which magazine cover (she's an editor) to go with, etc. Decisions, decisions, and she's blocked. She sees a psychiatrist throughout the show. The "she would make up her mind" theme of Jenny is quite relevant to the show, almost germane actually. |
