You may be right but strange that there hasn't been any mention of it after the initial announcement. It could be that he wants to wait until after the Chicago reviews to give him the flexibility to change his commitment if they aren't what are necessary to move the show. On the other hand, the Steppenwolf name is a significant brand on Broadway and one would think the play would start to be advertised by Rudin shortly. There's always the possbility that he liked the original script and felt more work needed to be done before moving forward and that the work wasn't done. Letts didn't change much when "August: Osage County" or "Superior Donuts" came to Broadway.
