| It matters because we still live in a world where LGBT people are under attack on a daily basis, even by our own government. When a newly minted star who’s developed a big following is open about his sexual orientation, it gives hope to people who might need it that they too can achieve their dreams, even in a country that still sees them as less than. Also, frankly, it’s interesting that Pratt, through all the profiles and press and buildup that he’s gotten over the course of DEAR EVAN HANSEN, has not mentioned something that he’s, apparently, comfortable enough about to make an offhand remark on a red carpet referencing it. Maybe it’s that he’s never been asked the question. |
