I sat in the onstage seats to see the Farinelli at the Duke of Yorks in London - at full price - and found them truly ghastly. Yes Mark Rylance may chat to you before, and you are very close to the actors but 98% of the play is staged out front - and downstage from where you are sitting. If you want to spend most of the evening looking at the backs of a Tony award-winning actor and a world-class countertenor, then choose these - if you prefer to see faces stick to the orchestra.
