I have been going to the theatre for 65 years (yes, I started young) and was late once. The show was Sugar and I came in during the overture but stood in the back until the intermission. I agree that arriving late is disrespectful not only to the actors, but also the audience members who have to be disturbed while those latecomers find there seats, rustle their packages and feel they have to drink at the same time. I also hate it when people drink or eat during the show and would advocate going back to the policy eons ago which did not allow drinks or food in the auditorium. I shall get off of my soapbox now.
