Last spring I was set to review a play at freeFall Theatre in St. Petersburg, FL. about 40 minutes from my home. It was a very early curtain, which was duly noted and I always plan on arriving 1/2 hour early. This evening there was an accident on one of two bridges out of town and toward St. Petersburg making a complete mess of things, traffic snarled EVERYWHERE, no getting from one bridge to the other. Worse, I didn't have the phone number of the theater and don't carry one of the modern phones with internet access. I was VERY apologetic to the theater, but at some point I realized that I would not make it there in anything resembling time to see the show.
Bottom line, at least for me is stuff does happen, even to the best of us. |
