And if you think performers don't notice the noise and commotion happening right in front of them, you're wrong. The audience should be focused on the stage, not on the couple who (inevitably) are seated in the middle of the 1st row and disturb that row and the row behind them. You can feel when an audience is distracted. The laughs don't come the same way. The rhythm is changed and the actors have an X Rated inner monologue even if they appear unaffected.
