I came very close to arriving late for 'Merrily We Roll Along' at the Menier (tube issues/bus diversions), but I made it with about three minutes to spare and spent about £15 on a taxi in order to get there on time.

Generally, I am careful almost to the point of paranoia about being on time for things. If I'm seeing something in London - 200 miles from where I live - I would usually expect to be in central London (or at least at Euston, the station where the service I use arrives) at least two hours before the performance begins, and my preference would be to arrive earlier than that. Even if there are major transport issues, with that amount of time in hand there aren't many venues I couldn't get to on foot.
