| We don't want to know because we are gossip hounds obsessed with every detail of an actor or celebrity's life, But that's exactly why I asked the question to begin with. The thread was starting to feel exactly like that to me. Not whether it was important to know in terms of gay visibility (which I agree with, stopping short of outing, which I feel is never good) - the whole "he said 'he'/he said 'she'" thing really was sounding a bit salacious and immature to me. I think what matters is HOW these things are discussed. To me this was starting to sound like gossip, not something of a more important nature. Which is why I asked why it mattered. Maybe this wasn't on the low level of the famed "treasure trail" thread - but it didn't seem like anyone cared about Platt as a gay role model - just "is he or isn't he." And that seemed wrong to me. |
