FWIW, I'll also add, as the mother of two 20-somethings, one of whom is out and proud, one of whom is straight, this is really NOT a big deal to many of that age/generation.

Obviously, it's still important for there to be role models for gay kids and young adults, and it's important for narrow-minded straight people who still see something wrong and unusual in anything other than heteronormativity, but, HAPPILY, the next generation is (slowly) changing the necessity for that.

I'm not gong to be a Pollyanna and say everything is great, and clearly, things are different in larger cities, blue states, and more progressive parts of the country, but things ARE changing.

It's actually kind of refreshing that Ben's sexual preference is NOT news, and hasn't been a big deal. I think we all long for the day that's the rule rather than the exception.
