Thanks to the MTA, I arrived for Dolly partway through the overture. A few other people arrived late as well. The ushers told us there was a break 18 minutes in (the change to Vandergelder's) and we could be taken inside then. They were very clear that we would NOT be going to our seats. I stood next to the sound booth until intermission.
At the Met, latecomers are sent by the ticket takers at the front doors directly to List Hall downstairs, which has a video/audio feed on a big screen. Anybody who's managed to get into the auditorium before the doors closed still gets seated, even after the lights are out and the music has started, unfortunately. |
