Maybe when you are a star of that magnitude, you are in a bubble and treated well by someone who treats others down the totem pole abominably. But how can she not have heard rumors or innuendos from fellow actresses or other people in the business she would work with like makeup people or dressers? I guess she felt compelled to put out this statement since she so publicly spoke out against Trump, and her last Oscar win (for a film not that popular) was propelled by Weinstein. But some aspects of Weinstein's were also noticed by people in the industry, but not remarked on publicly --but coming out now -- like stories of bad table manners or tales of intimidation (like he tried on Nathan Lane). Don't actresses or actors of a certain stature talk amongst themselves even though there's competition for roles and Oscars? Or warn others coming up the pike to watch out, not just about Weinstein, but about others who try to utilize the casting couch approach?
