Is "succeeds" really the correct word to use in the case of someone(Tudyk)who never actually played the role? "Replace" is obviously the appropriate word. Usually these kind of press releases only state that so-and-so has "joined" the cast as if it wasn't already complete. Maybe here they want to acknowledge the "creative differences" and don't want the new actor to be considered a replacement, which he obviously is.
