| Just back from VICTORIA AND ABDUL(a wonderful film) and as the credits started there was an 'in memory of Tim Piggott-Smith'. His death was probably discussed here , but I had not known he'd passed away.Best known for portraying the sadistic Ronald Merrick in the mini series JEWEL IN THE CROWN, he also played Broadway in the Kevin Spacey led ICEMAN COMETH. He was very good in that as well; I can't remember the exact details , but there was some Kerfuffle, when Spacey, as co-producer, insisted on bring Mr. Piggott- Smith over to repeat his role from the London production. A fine actor, requiescat in pace. |
