I think Six Degrees... is one of the great American plays; There's satire, topicality(though the omnipresence of cell phones today would require a ' date' on the play, a la Chorus Line is always in 1976). I thought Miss Channing was astonishing in the film , and what I love about the character OUISA is her hunger for transcendence, at the dinner hosted by Kitty Carlisle. It is Not Just An anecdote, to dine out on. A very funny play, but ultimately very profound.
