I went to Jonathan's very first cabaret show, back in 2007, at the Ephrata Performing Arts Center in Pennsylvania. It was a benefit for the theater where he did performed as a kid. And one of the highlights was Jonathan singing ''The Lonely Goatherd'' from ''The Sound of Music,'' accompanied by a goat from his family's nearby farm. Since then, Jonathan's done many cabaret shows, including quite a few in New York. I believe he's done two stints at Joe's Pub and once headlined in the ''American Songbook'' series at Jazz at Lincoln Center. He's such a beautiful balladeer. His rendition of Irving Berlin's ''I Got Lost in His Arms'' is a gem. AND he is SO funny. His mashup/medley of Sondheim and Britney Spears songs is genius.

If you're a fan of Lyrics & Lyricists, you'll be happy to know that Jonathan will be part of their Bobby Darin salute on Jan. 20-22, 2018.

As for Julie Wilson, what a classy performer. I saw her many times in Manhattan clubs, and even reviewed her once or twice. My favorites of hers included ''I Only Wanna Laugh'' (from ''Jimmy'') and ''Don't Ask the Lady'' (a riotous song about getting older, by Carolyn Leigh & Cy Coleman).

Plus, she was a tireless champion of young talent, often going to see their shows and offering (very vocal) support from the audience.

Going on YouTube, I actually found a snippet or two of Jonathan and Holt singing ''That's Life'' at last year's MAC memorial for Julie.
