Great that you still remember him and Clifton James so vividly. They must have been awfully good. It's so nice to read posts like yours. I should give a new listen to the RCA J.B. recording. I'd have considered that his most significant Broadway credit except that I was thinking of his role as having been small. But it sounds like it was perhaps a case of "there are no small roles."

I knew him mostly from the Three Sisters film. Then it was a surprise when I saw him in such a different role in Rachel Rachel, where he was also excellent.
