| I really should look things up before I post, instead of just relying on memory, as I often do. But I'd swear that I ***had*** read that story about Davis being in Step On a Crack and then leaving suddenly, just before Broadway, shortly after the event actually happened. Sometime in 1962, that would have been, and I couldn't begin to tell you where I read it. So I must have been thinking either of Rita Hayworth or Nancy Kelly--unless i was thinking of Davis in some other play? But I don't know how I could have confused Bette Davis with Rita Hayworth (let alone Nancy Kelly), even at age 13! : ) |
