| I wish there could be a way to stop the deeply disturbing "premium ticket" system. Just typing those two words makes me sick. I can't figure out what idiot would gladly fork over $1000 for something that could have easily had for $100 just a few short years ago. (Okay, may ten years ago, but still.....) The PT overkill is going to KILL Broadway and render it a wasteland for King Kong / Frozen fanatics. Producers don't care because they are no longer creative artists, just business people looking to make money. However, theatre needs art and artists in order to sell product. At this rate, there will not be an audience left to sell $1000 tickets to. If this continues, Broadway will be reserved for 'spectacles' and NY theater will be dead. |
