This is inspired by the conversation about Louis Jourdan being replaced in "On A Clear Day..." because, essentially, he did not have the voice for the title song. Are there examples of songs that were sung out of town or in previews by one character but ended up sung by another? Wasn't "Send In The Clowns" at least considered for Frederik?
When you consider that Daisy ended up singing the title song in the film version of "On A Clear Day...," you have to wonder how the producers did not see the obvious solution staring them in the face. Although, of course, Barbara Harris was not a major recording artist whose name could sell a soundtrack. |
