In Merrily they assigned Not a Day Goes By (the act one solo version) to Franklin, and it is recorded this way. Because they didn't like the way the original Beth performed it.

I think the title song in Spiderwoman was originally sung by Molina in Purchase. I think this is why it's sung by a man on And the World Goes Round and why after being assigned to the Spiderwoman she sings about herself in the third person. Because the lyrics were originally written as if someone else (Molina) was singing about her.
