"Distant Melody" from the musical PETER PAN was originally written for Wendy, but apparently Mary Martin wanted to sing it so it became a song for Peter. Then, in the Sandy Duncan revival, Duncan felt the song did not fit Peter at that time and that it was important for Peter to be excluded from the song. That is why Wendy sang it in that production. In the Rigby revival Wendy starts the song, then Peter comes in and it ends up being a duet.
