| In Jerome Robbins Bwy, the Gimmick number was very funny, unlike the recent Bway production, where the 'twinkle while you shake gal' was a pathetic drunk, there was no trumpet to bump(I think). and one of the strippers was so emaciated that all I could think of was death, decay, Hamlet.s poor Yorick, which may have been what Laurents wanted but it didn't match the lyric and music. |
