I don't know the particulars about McKellan but being a well known actor isn't the only way into an American production. One way is through an exchange if an American and a Brit.
Keep in mind that the London Amadeus was different than the Broadway Amadeus, just as the film was again different. I read that the London Amadeus involved Mozart's wife Constanze see and her sister, the models for the sisters in Cosi Fan Tutte. |
