Jeffrey Wells of Hollywood Elsewhere says he was ''wowed'' six months ago by the Cinemacon presentation of ''The Greatest Showman,'' starring Hugh Jackman as P.T. Barnum. Plus, it has Zac Efron and Michelle Williams. (And new songs by the award-winning team of Benj Pasek & Justin Paul.)
Set to open Dec. 25, it looked like an Oscar contender. But Wells says 20th-Century Fox told him today that it's not ''Best Picture material at all.'' |
