I saw 'CURTAINS' in previews. And, in over 50 years of theatre-going on Broadway, having seen many of the shows listed below and their showstopping numbers, I can't recall witnessing a song ever stopping the show for a loooooooonger period of time than "It's a Business," as sung by Debra Monk. The night I saw it, anyway.
The audience would not stop applauding. And, just as the applause would start to die down, it would return, coming back in waves.
It truly went on and on. And on. |
