I saw Harvey twice, and Sher in London. To my great surprise, Sher -- not comic in any of the same ways -- was quite powerful and moving, though he, too, didn't score much in the first third.
Interesting. Is "Stud..." the hardest of the trio for everyone to land ... who isn't Harvey? It almost demands that Harvey *thing* (**). He wrote it for himself, and Arnold in his milieu just has such a specifically defined verisimilitude that's tied to the characterization. It's such a personal expression.
**how do we use italics on ATC? I have Windows 10, updated chrome, and I can't get it to work. |
