If you want to see Hello Dolly with Bette and don't want to pay for premium then keep checking on the day of performance, I got F102 one seat off the aisle in the Orchestra for $229 at midday today by checking Telecharge. It seems a bunch of four people on the front row got their seats for "normal" pricing today, I heard them talking about it asking how one of the men how he had managed to get the seats. By the way some people outside the theater were just finding out that apparently Bette is off tonight at their performance.
As for the show, what is left to be said. I absolutely loved it, I can't remember ever being happier in my life than during the title number. Bette was so funny and just had tons of star power. I thought David Hyde Pierce was outstanding too. It is a fantastic ensemble cast. I saw an understudy Cornelius and Barnaby both of whom were excellent, more than good enough to have the roles full time.
As for next year, I love Bernadette and have been overjoyed at her concerts but I don't feel she is a good fit for the role, depending on word of mouth I may see it with her. |
