Well, to be fair, it happened again with August: Osage County. As it did with Bengal Tiger at the Richard Rodgers and, much more recently, with Present Laughter at the St. James. I prefer plays in smaller houses, I have to admit.
Not seeing the original production of Chapter Two is a major regret of mine. I love the four leads in addition to the play as written. The movie is a bit of a botch. Marsha Mason is good, but I remember thinking of her performance as proof of the difficulty of playing yourself as someone else sees you. |
