Maybe Jackman will get a Best Actor nod, but Wells' item was about the movie's prospects for Best Picture.
AwardsCircuit only places it at No. 20. Over at GoldDerby.com, there are 22 experts, each listing 10 predictions for Best Picture.
Only 2 named ''Showman.'' Even under Best Actor, only 3 out of 21 GoldDerby experts predict Jackman will land a nomination.
At least last year, we knew it was a horse race between ''La La Land'' and ''Moonlight''; so far, ''Showman'' doesn't look too strong.
To be fair, how many pundits have even SEEN ''Showman'' yet? But often, Oscar contenders have staked their position by now.
It's also possible that 20th Century Fox is putting its Oscar money/resources behind Steven Spielberg's ''The Post'' instead ... |
