Thanks for the details. Looking at the cast lists for the National run, I saw that character you mention, Ignaz Greybig, valet to Salieri, who was played by Philip Locke at the National. I figured the role must have been of some importance for Philip Locke to have played it.
For some reason, I thought that the first revision of the play still mentioned something about the sisters and Cosi, but I see Cosi is not even mentioned once (unless I'm missing it). I guess I was just remembering that the Venticelli tell Salieri that Mozart was engaged to Aloysia, she jilted him, and then he went after Constanze. |
